Mine has “Our records…” I called admissions a couple weeks ago because they never updated my portal after receiving my mid-year grades. I don’t think the messages matter, but that’s only my opinion.
Also good luck to all of you! Does anybody know what time decisions come out on the 17th?
I was also deferred. Hoping to get in. I wonder how many they accept who were deferred
@killerbee545 Last year they came out around 7:45 am ET so I hope it’s the same this year.
Dang my message changed today apparently, I do hope it doesn’t mean anything and they get to see my new ec accomplishments before they make a decision.
Does anyone know if this conspiracy is true? A lot of my highly qualified friends (BU is like a safety for them) also have “Our records indicate”…
@sdnfjlj87909 it only applies to definitively ED1 applicants and possibly ED2. Also, BU is not a safety school for anyone, it may have been five years ago but there are plenty of kids with 4.0s and 1600 SATs that they deny.
@sunflowerlover ok. but does it apply to RD applicants?
not really caring about the safety school thing, was trying to make the point that they are very accomplished students and it would seem a little weird should they get rejected while someone else who has “thank you for applying” and lower stats would get in. That was my only intention of writing that piece in my earlier post.
Weren’t decisions for ED applicants available around 4 PM? Will our decisions come out in the morning or afternoon
6 days everyone!
My understanding is that last year they started coming out around 8a.m. on a rolling basis from there forward.
I have realized that the process at all universities is simply impossible to understand or reverse engineer. Times change and historical information can no longer be used to understand current situations. We’ll all get where we are going and it’s out of our hands and no sense worrying.
@senioritisls for this year at least ED1 came out at like 1:30pm… LOL scariest moment of my life which is why I remember! I thought I saw somewhere on here (I think this thread) that RD was coming out at 5pm EST on the 17th but I could be wrong
@sdnfjlj87909 it does not apply to RD applicants.
I just recommend that you watch your wording carefully because saying stuff about a school being a “safety school” can be very offensive to the people who worked extremely hard to get in there. I’ve certainly made that mistake before. I know people in the Class of 2022 who are the first people in there family to go to college, who have made tremendous sacrifices to get into BU and other schools at its level (NYU, Case Western, etc.). While I’m sure your friends are extremely qualified, I recommend that you look through Northeastern’s Early Action thread, and I’m not saying this snippily. They had a TON of kids with 4.0s and 1600 SATs and 35 or 36 ACTs that were deferred or rejected. In this day and age a perfect score can’t guarantee admission. Best of luck to your friends (and you if you applied!) though, I do hope they(/you if you applied) are accepted!!
My message has not changed. My gpa is 4.12 and ACT is 28 - so far I’ve gotten into Tulane EA, Cal Poly SLO, UC Davis, Lewis & Clark, but was deferred from Northeastern. I’ve had good luck, but BU could go either way. This is just to show that perhaps the message doesn’t matter? but, then again, I could’ve just not gotten in.
I’m in a similar situation. 4.3 GPA and my ACT is a 28. I have “our records indicate.” In past years denials/acceptances were sporadic with “our records indicate,” so I hope this is just nervous speculation and that it only matters for ED.
Does anyone know what the deal is about submit final senior grades
I think that just means they’re expecting you to send your final end-of-year grades to them if you get in, I don’t think having that message means anything about your decision
Why do some have it and others don’t though
@CanIgoback because schools like UConn do that, regardless if enrolled or not. just admitted.
