BU v. AU v. Fordham for Business?

Im a HS Senior, done with my applications, and Boston University, American University, and Fordham are my three top schools. Aside from the F.A. packages that each school gives me assuming I get accepted, which school would you say is the best school to go for to pursue a Business-related career?

And also if you could, which one would you say has the best reputation and most selective?

i’m interested too so bump

Bumppppp an answer would be greatly appreciated!

BU

Fordham

American

I’d say:

Fordham

BU

AU

I chose Fordham over BU because Fordham has a better location for business.

BU’s business school is superior to fordham’s

Opinions are like belly buttons, so take that with a grain of salt. Fordham’s Gabelli School is outstanding, its in New York and their CONNECTIONS for internships in New York TRUMP BU and American by a bunch. Fordham is a classic gothic gated campus, gorgeous and has full sports. BU is more urban…fewer sports. American is a fine school, in DC. Best there for government related stuff, if you ask me.

My bias (disclosed) is Fordham. Jesuit education worth its weight in gold.

Where are you from? Do you prefer New York to Boston? BU is also very big. Fordham is about 5,000 students on campus, of which Gabelli is a number below 2,000 I believe. Gabelli has a new state of the art building with a trading floor in the lobby. Its amazing. Life at Fordham is wonderful. If you do well, there are opportunities galore in Manhattan and also their global program, which includes Fordham’s campus in Beijing.

You decide. Good luck.

I would guess that almost every company that recruits from Fordham also recruits at BU

To start with I should say that my S graduated from Gabelli and had a great experience there academically and socially and he is now at a top grad program in his field. I don’t think you can make a bad choice. The aid you get at any of the schools could impact your final decision. For now I suggest you focus on the differences between the schools and ask yourself the following questions…

-Do you prefer a large school or a mid size school?
-Do you want to work in NYC, Boston (or DC if you keep American in the equation)–each school will have more connections and internship opportunities in the city it is in.
-Do you prefer a Jesuit school (with a large core curriculum) or a non-sectarian school? My son groaned about a couple of classes in the core at Fordham but for the most part he enjoyed it and came out with a wonderful and well rounded education.

More companies recruit from Fordham than BU, largely due to being in NYC. I would choose Fordham over BU.

Have you also applied to Northeastern? It is a bit harder to get into but it has a better business school than either of the others.
