which one would you chose to go to and why?

BU- academically they are very similar and BU is in the city so that gives it a plus. Both great schools though

Got accepted to both among others. Going for BU for the reasons I put on the Drinking scene thread and RD accepted student thread. BC seemed too much like High School to me. Kind of overly sports and drinking oriented and the girls weren't as interesting as BU. (Mind you I'm a little shy and haven't had a real girlfriend yet but theres still hope for my college years...LOL) Also BU is bigger and I think the more alumni the school has the better chance of running into people from the same school when you are older. My Dad went to a large college and even now meets people through his profession that went there too. BC just seemed less sophisticated but I'm sure its a good school. I don't know if I'll ever get a chance to live in a real city again and my Mom says its one thing in her life she wishes she experienced. I'm a little scared but everyone says that after the first few weeks you will make friends at a big school since there are so many people to meet and you have to get along with some of them. I also read some BIOS of Professors at BU and many are internationally known. A lot of time on TV or the radio I'll hear BU mentioned because of a research study or book written by a prof. or whatever but I never hear of BC in that respect. Hope you make the right choice. If not you can always try and transfer.

i totally agree with drummerboy. i was going nuts about choosing between the two for the past 2 weeks. for me it was the whole city/diverse atmosphere that really got me convinced. like, at bc, everyone seemed nice, but a little boring...whereas at BU everyone was friends with one another, it was like a big family (i'm going into the communications program). so i am turning down the honors program at BC to go to BU, most definetly. bc seemed too cold and uneventful in comparison. also, BC gave me $0 in financial aid, wheras i got half tuition from BU....

Almost the exact same story. Came down to BC honors or BU honors. BU gave me half tuition, plus I like having the esplanade right there (and the brownstones absolutely own BC's housing). I sent in my deposit, so I'll be at BU barring a last minute waitlist acceptance from U Chicago.

Flav,

What is the esplanade?

The Esplanade is the grassy area between Storrow Drive and the Charles River. I think it's either technically a state park or a city park.

Well, I got accepted to BU and waitlisted from BC. I continued researching both colleges, and the more I look at BU, the more I want to go there. BC seemed like there wasn't much diversity, considering that it was a Catholic school. And although I LOVE football, I love hockey even more. All of the opportunities that BU has to offer seem to exceed those of BC. I am so happy that I got waitlisted at BC because, if not, I might have wound up going there!
