my child has been thrown out of their greek community due to false allegations . my child was hazed and haraased and was basically framed . many of their greek friends won't have anything to do with them. this has been extremely hard on them.
any suggestions ? any thoughts ? any insight ?

Can you give a little more insight? I assume this is s boy? Were the allegations that he did something illegal or immoral in general or does it surround him doing or saying something against the fraternity? What is the official reason they gave for the dismissal? I know you don’t want to identify him, but more info would help me better guide you. In the meantime, you and he should not respond in writing or verbally in any form (social media, texts, etc.)

you always have the option of filing a complaint with the organization’s national office.

i am afraid for my child to respond as to whether my child is a boy or a girl . The false allegations were both condeidered against the law ( sort of ) and immoral , also against the greek community from which they were a part of . My child had proof that these allegations were false too… My child wanted to prove their innocencse and wasnt allowed . We offered a lie detecor test to the organization , and they said they wouldnt do it . My child has documentation that they were abused by members of the organization and that wasnt even talken into account . We went all the way up to the National office , and they supported the local chapter , even with all the evidence we presented .

Did you file a complaint specifically about being thrown out or about the abuse/hazing? You probably won’t get being tossed reversed nor would you want to probably, but you could (and should) still get the chapter in trouble for the hazing as a separate issue. If they don’t respond, go to the body above them, IFC, NPC, NPHC or whatever the corresponding one is.
Fraternities and sororities are private membership organizations and if the National Board approved the membership termination there isn’t much left that you can do–some groups allow a reinstatement of membership, but usually after a minimum of 3 years or so. Not very helpful to your child’s collegiate experience, of course.
is there a way to make a complaint against the National office ? my child was framed … My child was never allowed to prove there innocense.
what do those apprevations stand for and how do i get in touch with them ?

If you don’t see your child’s group listed, you can PM me the name (if you’re comfortable with that) and I’ll try and figure out who oversees them.
The national organizations don’t really have any policing power against the individual groups. They can’t do anything against a group. Your next move would be to sue the organization involved.
