I got into Tepper but was waitlisted for SCS. Computer has always been my number one choice so if I go to CMU, how easy is it take CS courses as well? Perhaps as a minor, double major, or maybe transfer schools if I find that I don't like business?

My S is facing the same predicament, but he was accepted to H&SS. We were told that although it is possible to transfer, SCS is the most difficult school to enter. We were also told that there are opportunities to take cs classes from other schools. In fact, you’ll HAVE to do that in order to apply for a transfer because you have to prove yourself.

If you just want to take cs courses from the Tepper school, you can do that as well. But you may get shut out of upper level cs classes because SCS students will have first priority.

This is why S is hesitant to enroll. There’s too many “what ifs”. It’s a little unsettling.
