Business at dartmouth

I would like to go into some sort of business career, and I was wonder how is the business placements for graduates? How many of the undergraduates apply to b-school right out of college?

Would it be beneficial for me to attend a university like this (which puts me and my parents in debt) for business rather than attend a state school for free?

Most students don't attend b-school directly after graduation because most B-school's would like for you and others require you to have a few years of work under your belt.

If you are looking to major in usiness save yoru parents a ton of money and don't attend Dartmouth because Dartmouth does not have a "business major", but they do a very good job in placing students in ibanking and managment consulting jobs after graduation.

It is VERY rare for someone from ANY undergrad school in the country to seek a graduate biz degree right after getting an undergrad degree. However, the Dartmouth name will open doors to great first jobs. These make it easier for one to distinguish themselves and have a brand name when applying to MBA schools.

It will most likely be the case that getting internships and other opportunities will be easier as a Dartmouth student and/or grad.

However, if one is motivated and is terrific intellectually, going to a state school is not a bad idea provided you can stand out there. If you can do that, you'll save over 100k and end up with similar results as the Dart grad.

It also depends what state school it is-- some are far better than others.
