Business/Financing Internship for a Junior

I am a junior is new jersey. I have a 3.7 gpa. Can anyone give me ideas for a prestigious internship that would impress colleges and that I have chance for. I asked my school but my school is stupid and dont have a list of interships. any idea?

Do you have a career center on campus?

Ask one of your professors to see if they have any contacts to NY.

You have a strong GPA and with your proximity, you can easily get access to the big firms on Wall St. Now the question is who you know.

edit:
Are you in college or high school? If you are still in high school, try finding something thats not related on Wall Street like extracurriculars.

yea im in high school

right now i can almost gaurantee an internship at axa finance company due to family connection but i was wondering if i could do something better that is sponsered by a college

what college do you plan to apply at?

i feel that college will value leadership and extracurriculars over an internship at axa.

what will you be doing at axa?

im applying at sterns.....
i already have some leadership(im prez of censored news, historian for fbla, nxt yr vp for fbla, and looking for a position in at least on of my honored society) and i pretty much have good ec's. so thats why i was looking for something different such as an internship

I had an internship at UBS Investment Bank in Zurich my Sophomore year of High School and going to be working at Perry Capital's london office this summer but then again I mostly got in through connections. So try to and see if you know anyone who works at an IB or Hedge Fund or at least knows someone who does.
