im starting my computer search, but i am not sure what types of computers are compatible with ud's business program. right now i am leaning towards a macbook. any current students have macs or know if they will work in the business college?

there is a website that has the udell requirements for computer (Purchasing A Computer) and at the bottom there is a link for specific business major computer requirements (http://www.lerner.udel.edu/Accounting/computing.html). I also read at another udel website (dont have the link) that a pc is preferred for students in the alfred learner college of business and economics. plus, aren't pc's cheaper anyways?

they aren't necessarily cheaper. i tend to like macs more than pc's, since i have had terrible experiences with my HP. are there any current business students out there who can share there experiences with the types of computers people are using at delaware? thanks in advance.

p.s. - the second link you posted isn't working

sorry about that, the link only isnt working because i accidentally included the end of the bracket in the link. here it is again: Computing Recommendations | Lerner College

if that link still doesnt work you can find the link through the first pages link that i gave you (but it should work because i removed the brackets).

I've looked into this as well, and noticed on the link that the PC (not Mac) recommendation header (top of the web page) is for accounting and MIS. There is no clear reason given for selecting a PC over a MAC.

Given that, we're going to go with a Mac - have another college student (Finance Major at Stern) who has a Mac, which she loves and which has everything she needs (Excel works just as well on it). We're betting that if there are any specialized biz apps, they can be handled in the computing center.
