Buying Textbooks

<p>I have registered for my classes and am looking forward to starting at LSU this fall. Now I need to get my books, but would rather order online than go through the bookstore.</p>

<p>So far, the only way I have found to find what books are required is by clicking "Order textbooks from LSU bookstore" under my schedule in PAWS. This is fine for getting the title of the book, but no specific information about the titles is given.</p>

<p>For example, there is a book I need for SPAN 2102 called Fuentes. The bookstore says it comes with several other items in a required package, but doesn't list the items or any ISBN numbers. I know I need the 3rd edition, but there are two 3rd editions- one in English and one completely in Spanish.</p>

<p>Is there another way to find out exactly what books I need for my classes, like a list not from the bookstore? Is there a place where I can find syllabi that might contain this information?</p>

<p>Email the professor or ask them during your first class. You can always buy the book after the first class.</p>

<p>^You can do that too. I’ve already tried to google some of my professors’ course syllabus, and I couldn’t find a recent one.</p>

<p>You will usually find a professor’s syllabus on their personal website. Depending on the course, I suggest you wait to buy books. Seriously, some professor’s may write their own notes, and the tests will usually come directly from that. Even though it says you need a book for a particular class, that may not be the case. It all depends on your professor.</p>
