I think RBase07 wasn't rude, but rather helpful... he just cut to the chase.

"i know someone who is c average for reg classes and he got into uci"

Well according to UCI's website:
"An average high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.88 (note: UCI uses a maximum of 8 honors grade points in determining the GPA)"

A person w/ C averages from college prep classes is FAR from the average GPA of UCI admits (most admits are to the UCs are in honors/APs courses but if we ignore that commonality of admits...) so unless that person is some sort of god outside of the classroom by getting near perfect SAT scores and being highly committed to a laundry list of ECs and shows passion while at the same time being some URM who holds multiple outside jobs out of necessity to support his/her family (while emphasizing this in their personal statements), and with a lot of luck on his side and pity from the application reader, I don't see how its possible for a "C" college prep student to make it into a UC. RBase is just pointing out the harsh truth.

Now if those are your senior grades, you're in trouble of having any potential UC admissions rescinded.

Omgitscollege: If you were dropped from your spanish class your senior year, your best chance of not having your admissions revoked is to explain it to the UCs as soon as possible if you receive an admissions letter (you'll have to explain it anyways if you wrote on your application that you were going to continue the course in your second semester but all of a sudden didn't). Your senior grades itself are not factored into your admission decision, but they can work against you if you fall below I believe it was a 3.0 because that is grounds for admission revocation.

how about if you got 2 Cs but went to summerschool at a community college to make it up? i know its not the same...but how much difference would it make? got an A btw..

i was pretty sure that UCs dont even get your senior grades....as in any of them until after you're accepted in May.

you just have to stay at or above a 3.0.....right?

this being the case, how would getting a C your first semester senior year affect the caliber of UC you went to?

am i right?
