I applied ED to an Ivy League school and got a C on my first trimester in one class (AP Calc AB). I am not going to bother you by explaining the reasons because they are probably irrelevant; the fact is I got a C and that’s that. The rest of my grades are fine, and reflect my other years of high school.
How bad is this? How much will it hurt my chances? Do I have any chance at all?
No one is perfect. The difference between a 4.0 and a 3.9 something is not that great. They will not deny you based on a single bad grade.
P.S. I aced Calc 1 and 2, but I am not doing so hot in Multi variable Calculus. It happens to the best of us. You still have a great chance if everything else is fine.
Just to make sure, you had a tough time with the class, but there are no other issues involved like cheating on a test and getting a zero?
Are you planning on continuing the class during the next trimester? Will you be able to get a better grade in the next trimester?
I’m confused - is this an end of term grade or just a mid-term grade? Does it actually go on your transcript and get a separate line, to be factored into your GPA? At most schools that operate on a semester system, the mid-term grades are FYI only.
Just wait to update them until like January, and at worst they put you on probation/send you a scold letter if theyve already accepted you, and you just gotta make sure you get As the other trimesters.
