C2 Education experience

Can anyone comment on their experience at C2? We went in for a consultation today and I like that you can choose how you use your hours to work on SAT, school grades, college essays, AP tests, and subject tests. Is it worth the money? The guy that worked there seemed to really care about their students’ progress and even showed us emails from parents who were happy with their results as well as past students who were admitted to selective schools. How was your experience? I know it varies by test center but I feel like this one is one of the better ones. The guy even offered us 10 extra hours for free in addition to a 25% off discount. When we asked him which package we should purchase he encouraged us to get the smaller 50 hour package rather than the 100 hour package, which makes me think that they don’t just want money and actually care. My mom compared C2’s rates to a local tutor and C2 is about $30 cheaper. I also like the resources that come with it like the college counseling, books, and testing

Also I took their diagnostic ACT. He said it is 95% resemblance to the official but how similar is the C2 ACT Diagnosric to official tests. Obviously the ACT real tests are the only ones that are representative but how does C2’s diagnostic compare?

I’m not sure about C2; I’ve seen mixed reviews about them. I remember taking a free practice test from them freshman year (I’m currently a junior) when they had some sort of promotion, and they called my parents at least 2-3 times a week to schedule a consultation with them until the middle of sophomore year… Not sure what that says about C2 or if it was my specific test center. But as you said before, it could just vary.

In all honestly, if you are currently a freshman or sophomore, then maybe you should try to prep on your own before investing in a service such as this. If after 6 months or so you see little improvement, then you might consider going to an external prep company or tutor. Many people (including me) have had success using Khan Academy and free College Board practice tests as our only study aid.
