I got the email

I got the email.

I got the email, I don’t know exact numbers but I would say being a semi- finalist is pretty good. About 4500 incoming freshman every year, I’m sure not everyone applied to the scholarship and some were cut during the semi -final evaluation.

I also got the email, man I hope I get this scholarship, im oos and tuition is through the roof, but I will do it for you berkeley, I will, just for you!

I also got this email. I really wish there was more stats on it–like, what percentage of semi-finalists get the scholarship? But I have no idea.

I got the email too.

There are around 1,000 semi-finalists and 250 will receive the scholarship.

Have people already been called for interviews for this?

I got the finalist e-mail. Apparently, the calls for interviews come out by May 17, 2010.

Yeah, same. I got the finalist e-mail. How many people are finalists usually?

I think finalist just means that you were a semi-finalist and since you sent in your SIR, you became a finalist and they can start interviewing people who will actually come next year. Otherwise since they didn’t ask for more information to differentiate between the semi-finalists and the finalists, the only difference would be that many people decided to not come to CAL, and are automatically taken out of the running.

no, i know people who are attending cal in the fall and did not advance

did anyone from socal get an interview call yet?
getting kinda worried that I missed the “three attempts” to be contacted :/

i got an email if that helps.

I am from so-cal and have not been contacted.

I live in SoCal and got an e-mail telling me that they are holding interviews in Glendale on May 22nd and to RSVP to it to let them know if I want to try to continue to advance. So check your e-mail everyone!

What Ms. Sun said. I think its for all years, and you have to reapply each year. I didn’t get my first year, but second and third I did.

I just got a call for my interview and the alum told me that 4500 people applied for the scholarship and 800 became finalist if that gives people a chance to see your chances. So if Ms. Sun’s stats are correct than only 200 were cut from the semi finalist to finalist round, and there’s only about a 32% chance of winning.

I still have not been contacted…
I’m getting a little worried.
