Womp. Didn’t get the achievement award scholarship either! Oh well, hopefully we all get into Cal!! =)

Also got the email saying I was no longer being considered for the scholarship.

Was pretty bummed for a minute, but then I remembered the most important thing is getting into the school itself!

Congrats to everyone who will interview :)

i was selected for an interview and the lady who spoke to me that 100 people will be interviewed. I believe interviews will be ongoing until 4/20.

@yeaimkobe, did you get a phone call or an email? If so, when?

@OpaqueApotheosis
i got the email that i was selected for an interview on 3/29/13. I got a call on 4/5/13 to schedule an appt on 4/20. Im from the Los Angeles region.

@yeaimkobe congrats on that atleast. I wonder if being selected for interview possiblely reflects your admission acceptance, being that they wouldn’t want to give a student the award if she or he was not accepted to Berkeley. Can you share your major, gpa, etc. also is it a in person interview or do you gotta drive to the university?

Yay, yeaimkobe!! Congrats!! I wish you the best of luck!!

@yeahimoke, ok, thanks. Then, it doesn’t look good for me (regarding the scholarship) or for anyone who hasn’t gotten an email. Some people probably just didn’t receive a rejection letter. I’ll let you guys know if I do.

Thanks everyone, but i dont believe it reflects the admissions status. yea my major is chemical engineering, my gpa is 3.67 and yes it will be an in-person interview but i am still waiting for the address. Although they told me it will be in the Los Angeles area.

I’d be nervous lol. Hate interviews. Never know what they will ask.

yea me too lol
I was actually going to transfer last year but was not able to. However, I also was granted an interview for TAAP. I did not get it last year, nor was I accepted to UCB. From what I remember they tell you a little about themselves and how the program has helped them. Then they ask you a few questions like tell me about yourself, and your community service involvement. The two questions that got me were how do plan on contributing to TAAP and describe an obstacle outside of school that you have overcome. I forgot how long the interview was but this year the email stated it would be 30-40 minutes long. they also told me that 17 freshmen and 8 transfers would get the scholarship. I am not sure if the same distribution of scholarships will apply this year thogh though. I can’t wait to get another crack at it, and hopefully this time ill get into ucb now that i have my pre reqs completed.

Hey Kobe, quick question

If you’re a dude, what are you planning on wearing? I’m confused on the dress code, it’s pretty ambiguous on what it’s expecting.

I still dont know but they say just to wear slacks and a dressing shirt. The person that called me also said do not worry about what to wear since not going to judge you based on that.

@themadman

did they tell you by when recipients will be notified?

The lady said that we should get an email from the person who emailed us the appt time on the 25th.

This is pretty annoying… People have gotten rejection letters for this award and people have gotten appointments for the award. And yet there are people (like me) who still haven’t heard back at all… I wonder what is up?

I received my interview and they said notifications will come out on the 25th. I still haven’t received anything )’: Does this mean I didn’t make the cut?

I just saw the attachment on the email about the interview and it states decisions will be made on 4/25 for freshmen and on 5/11 for transfer students.

I guess I didn’t get it then )’: Unless its mailed… -crosses fingers-

Still nothing; they said that they will notify you if you got it or not
They should be notifying everyone who was interviewed…
Can someone email or call them to figure out what’s going on? >.>
