Is Cal Day worth going to? What's the main point of it? Or is a basic campus visit enough?

i have the same question...i live in NJ so im wondering if it's worth the visit

also do we get rooming accomodations?

No rooming accomodations for Cal Day

A basic campus visit I would say is enough, but Cal Day is a lot of fun, and there's a lot of energy/people/things going on

There's a lot more activity, and many more events. Some things are accessible on Cal Day that may not be during most days, maybe you can tour some facility, and invited, whereas on a normal visit you might not be aware of it without someone pointing it out, or perhaps it won't be open or something. It's not necessary, but fun, especially if you're interested in learning about clubs, talking to students and others, and listening to some interesting lectures.

Do current students usually disappear on Cal Day?

Disappear?

Leave for the weekend, or the day. "Dissapear" seems like wrong choice of word.

Some do. Some show friends around, help with clubs and presentations, go to lectures, do work. Whatever.
