Cal Grant A

Just got a notification that I was awarded this for 12k. Anyone else? When I logged in it asked me to complete some form, I finished it but when I submitted it, it just sent me to a random white page with a the site banner. Anyone else have this issue?

What website did you log in to?

<a href=“CSAC - Student Landing Home”>CSAC - Student Landing Home;

Had the same thing but for Cal Grant B. I had to complete the Transfer Entitlement Form. I completed it twice but a giant Stop sign still shows up in the Cal Grant Main page saying that I need to complete it.

yeah I got an email from them too

Same thing for me guys. If you get the Berkeley Undergraduate scholarship, would the cal grant be extra? I got 14k for the Berkeley Scholarship, wondering if they would either cut that scholarship award down or give me those funds :-w

I have to submit the Transfer Entitlement Certification Form which is for Grant B too. I did not get a confirmation email/ a page that says they received my update of the certification form. Anyone has this issue too?? PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!

@Jewbacca Unfortunately a lot of that scholarship will be replaced by the Cal Grant. But you still will come slightly better ahead.

Just checked mine and it says that it’s awaiting final award processing. Whatever that means :expressionless:

It states that my school of attendance is UC Santa Barbara. A few months ago, it stated that UCLA was my school of attendance because I put that school first on my list of schools on the FAFSA. I haven’t changed the order of the schools since then.

Should I be worried?

csac website sucks [-X

@Cayton, it just lists the first school you indicated, it has nothing to do with the school u SIRed at. you’re good!

@randombookie‌

But UCLA is the first school I listed. That’s the problem. :(

I started my own thread, but I might as well post here.

mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov says that Cal Grant C was not awarded to me because: “Ineligible Degree/Certificate, School Not Elig for Cal Grant”

Please help me. I am confused.

I got into Berkeley EECS (all 9 UC’s except SF) and already SIR’d.

Some starting questions:

 1. Why Cal Grant C?
 2. Will I still hear about my eligibility for Cal Grants A and B?

Of course, “Cal Grant C awards are not for students studying for a four-year degree.” So why was I put in Cal Grant C?

And does it matter if UCLA is listed instead of Berkeley as my school of attendance? I read in a thread that they use the first school listed in the FinAid application, and that it shouldn’t matter because we still didn’'t know whether we’d get admitted to that school. I tried changing it but I couldn’t.

Some stats: 4.0 GPA, EFC 0, legal immigrant/just took oath of citizenship and will report to SS this week.

@sarahchun‌
If it says you’re ineligible for C that means you’ve already been disqualified for A and B. Possibly because your gpa wasn’t above the minimum, your income was over the ceiling. Unless you are eligible for the Entitlement awards, it’s a crap shoot. The Competitive awards can be difficult to get.

I got Cal Grant B. Do I get this award and UC Irvine Grant?! that would be awesome!

Just wondering, when did you submit yours? I submitted mine in late April and the only thing I got back was from UCLA. Cal Grant, my Application Status does not show anything, not do I have a CSAC ID Number. Only thing that got verified was my GPA.

@bolandgoo same here. I am getting exactly 13,665 from Cal Grant B (Transfer Entitlement) and 14,366 from the UC Irvine Grant. Does this mean I no longer have to take out any loans or will my UCI Grant or Pell Grant be reduced?

@laxman11: at least some part of it should go toward my work study, that would be enough for me!! Cuz they offered me just $1500 for work study.

@JewBacca: I was wondering this too, and I looked on the CalGrant website for Berkeley. They stated that there is a maximum amount of aid a student is to receive and their other grants/scholarships will be lowered if they receive the Cal Grant.
