Fun fact for those who applied in CSC. They were only taking 7 transfer students out of 360+ applicants. In my campus I know of 3 people who applied including myself. Two of us applied with a 4.0 and all the required courses, I being one of them. In my case I only had one recommended course but the other 4.0 applicant had all the recommended. Were both actively involved with SHPE and are minorities. We both got rejected. The last person I know of, applied under the exact same circumstances as the other 4.0 student (all reqs and recom) but with a 3.8 GPA. He got in, he is also the only person in my campus that I know of that got in at all. In any case if anyone has a clue what they base their selection on I’d like to hear your thoughts because I can’t make sense of this.

Admission Status: Rejected
Major: Civil Engineering
GPA: 4.0
IGETC: Will be completed this semester
Major Prerequisites: Will be completed this semester

Mildly disappointed

Anyone else who got rejected: can you please tell me what your portal says now. does it still say you have not been selected or is the message different? thanks.

jack2011 I was rejected and my portal changed from the not selected to something else

Does anyone on here know someone or applied to the CRP major?

@Regan240 Thank you for responding! Mine changed and I was confused because I was unsure whether it meant they had already rejected my appeal or not. Good to know.

@jack2011 @regan240

Just checked out of curiosity and my portal message has changed from “You have not been selected” to

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider your application for admission to Cal Poly. We regret we are unable to offer you admission due to the extremely limited number of openings available.”

Still means I got rejected…

@SRJCEngineer

exactly what mine says thanks for clarifying that. I was going to be pretty bummed out if thats all they did to respond to an appeal that I spent a few hours on haha.

It’s as if they didn’t truly take time to read and/or consider the appeals.

Rejected
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.80
IGETC: Done by spring 2014
Prerequisites: everything available at my CC done by spring 2014

What gives? I thought I was definitely going to get in; was I mistaken?

I just got a physical rejection letter from SLO today. GG.

Yup, got one too this afternoon. Isn’t it enough getting rejected once? haha, now they have to send you a formal rejection.

I also got a formal one in the letter. It feels like a slap to the face for me; however I will be going to a world-wide known university (University of Oregon) so I see it as Cal Poly’s loss. But to the rest of the people who also got rejected, I am sure you guys will go to a better university than this one so keep your heads up :)

Wait, so they send out physical rejection letters and do not send out physical acceptance letters?

Weird

Anybody get their financial aid award info yet?
I got mine today

@Bayareagurl they should send out both in the mail and online.

I got my financial aid today as well. $24000 worth of loans. :(

Sorry, to intrude here. Didn’t realize I posted in the “Transfer Thread” which is why I’ve edited this post. I initially stated that my son also was offered $24,000 in loans. To clarify, he is not a transfer student, he’ll be a freshman in the fall.

Cheers and best of luck to all!

I got about $7300 in grants & no loans
