Cal Poly SLO rescind?

I was admitted as an english major and I am failing Calculus AB. I got a D first semester and will most likely get an F second semester. I already have 10 semesters of math and I took Calculus 1 in a community college and passed with a C. All of my other grades are A’s with two B’s. I also got a 790 on the Math 2 subject test if they look at that. I’m really scared because they said that they put me on hold to check up at the end of my senior year. Should I SIR for other colleges I got into as backup or am I okay? What are my chances?

Do you max out your math semesters without it? Is your gpa ok otherwise? I would call admissions right away and see what you can do. I “think” they would see if you’d have gotten in regardless of the math classes. There’s no way to withdrawal and avoid the F? Do you have someplace else you can also commit to that won’t rescind you over the math grades?

Yes, I would have ten semesters without it. My gpa would be a 3.9 weighted based on how my classes are going this semester with that F. By the end of junior year it was a 4.0 weighted. I can’t get out of the classes. I wanted to in the beginning of first semester, but my school didn’t let me. I don’t know where I can go that won’t rescind me. I was hoping on asking UC Davis when their lines are open again tomorrow.

You definitely need to call admissions, since anything lower than a C is grounds for being rescinded even if you have fulfilled the max semesters of Math.

Here is the SLO provisional admission:
-You must complete all coursework designated on your application, including those listed as “in progress” or “planned,” with a grade of “C” (or better) no later than the previous Spring Term for admission for the Fall Term. You must maintain the academic standard that allowed for your admission.
-You must complete each term in your senior year with an overall 3.0 GPA in your College Prep Coursework.

In regards to UC Davis, the UC’s will rescind for D’s and F’s, so again contact admissions and see what kind of options are available. Did you report the 1st Semester D to Cal Poly and UCD? This is a requirement especially for the UC’s.

Yea I reported my D from first semester to Cal Poly, but not UCD because I wasn’t planning on going there. I have read other posts from people worried about being rescinded for failing a class and they weren’t rescinded so I was wondering if this could be a case like that.

All you can do is call admissions and get the answer from the source.

I’ve called multiple times and all they can give me is a vague answer. They want me to send in my final transcript and they’ll see from there. At that point I’ll have to SIR to another school and hope that I don’t get rescinded.
