Cal Poly SLO Transfer Thread for Fall 2020

I have been looking at the flowcharts and focusing on the third and fourth year sections. Other than that, I have not done much:/

For business majors, are concentrations due by May 31? How do you declare it?

where did you see that?

The OCOB IG

I’m pretty sure we declare them during orientation.

I sorta remember declaring it on my November application when it asked us for our major.

I am currently taking a history class that is irrelevant to my major. Does anybody know if Cal Poly cares if I make it a Pass/Fail class?

Yes they care. You should contact admissions because their terms and conditions require you to pass all your classes. Also nice username?

Are you 2 just messing with us?

Or is this an Alter-Ego thing and we’re just seeing your thought process work itself out? ? ?

lol thanks dawg

Well, that orientation refund feels good I guess.

I’ve also been looking at the major flowcharts to guess what classes I’d be taking. There’s two classes I see I should have by Junior year that I could not take at my CC: “Statistical inference for Management 2” and “Fundamentals of Corporate Finance.”

I suppose those will fill in the spots that I would have for all remaining scheduled GE classes that I don’t have to take as a transfer (save for the 3 upper division GE requirements).

These are just my guesses, I understand I could be completely wrong after orientation counseling.

What’s the orientation refund? When did they issue that?

Cal Poly canceled SLO Day and is making it online now.

So Cal Poly is issuing partial refunds since housing, meals, and parking are no longer being used.

I got an email on May 29th.

@adpxoxo

If you paid for any supporters attending slo days, you now get that money back as well due to slo days going virtual.

I found this link to be helpful when it comes time to register for classes:

Yep, that website erased a lot of my anxiety

I’m not feeling the support from Cal Poly as a Transfer student.

It seems that everything is geared toward Freshman. Transfers don’t even have their own flowcharts, yet Cal Poly has been accepting Transfers for how long?

Transfers cannot read the Fall quarter schedule to formulate different scenarios for Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, etc.

I cannot even find the courses we’re supposed to take for Business Finance so even if I did have access to the schedule, it wouldn’t be any help since I don’t know which classes I’m supposed to take.

Forcing Transfers to wait until August 27th to speak for the 1st time to an academic counselor, then register the next day is reckless. I need to know what to take to digest it over June & July so I know what’s expected of me by August.

I am so disappointed in Cal Poly when it comes to Transfers.

Still on the waitlist for Civil Engineering any transfers get off the waitlist yet?

Do would you mind sharing your stats?
