cal poly vs. uci

to tell you the truth, im really not happy with my top 2 choices right now. i don't think i'll be satisfied at either school. i'm planning to transfer, i know community college will be more promising when it comes to transferring, however i do not wish to attend a CC.

would it be possible to transfer out of Cal Poly to a UC perhaps?

no!!!you can not transfer to uc from csu...(im not positive tho..)

you wont know if you're satisfied until you'e actually at the school.

what is your prospective major.

at cal poly architecture is super strong, probably better than some of the bigger name schools out there in the country.

i think you're wasting your time if you plan to transfer out of cal poly into a uc or from uci to another uc.

you know they give preference to cc students. what makes you think you deserve a spot, especially when you know cc will be a better choice if you want to go to UC's.

some of you kids need to let your high egos go and face reality.

Uci... No Question

thanks. im going for architecture. and i've turned in my SIR

its not the ego at all. please don't tear me apart, thats my job. its other factors, the area makes me feel so isolated.

i've visited both campuses and can't imagine myself calling it home for the next few years. i think its just anxiety

Cal Poly...No question.

architecture? CP is in the top 5 for arch. in the nation in many rankings. That's tough to turn down, but if you don't feel comfortable there it's probably teh right thing to do.

Unless you are doing architicture or agric... there is no point in going to Cal Poly... this is coming from someone who got into both Cal Polys, UCI and UCSD... (I'm goin to I)... Cal Poly is very strong in those two programs... but in other programs it lacks a bit...

Cal poly has many strong programs besides the ones you mentioned: Engineering, graphic design, comp sci, education, business, the sciences...

The only programs that are slightly lacking are in the liberal arts(only some programs), and that's only due to the small sizes of the departments. These departents are still pretty difficult to get into(require 3.8+). Every campus has its weakness.
