Cal Poly will not accept anything below 3.6 next year?/

I heart that from someone at Cal Poly . Is that true?

Cal Poly like all the other CSU’s admit students based on a point system. Read up on CSU Mentor website. I can tell you that this year if you were applying to Cal Poly Pomona from outside their geographic area you needed to have 3600 as your CSU score (a combo of grades and test scores). The most difficult CSU’s to get into according to CSU mentor website are Cal Poly SLO, San Diego State, Cal Poly Pomona and Long Beach. All these schools require a higher score for admittance if applying from outside the neighboring communities of thos schools.

Not sure what the exact cutoff is but yes admission will be harder for the next few years dues to budget cuts from State. Good luck

i have a 3.2 and i live in a neighboring community to cal poly pomona, is that enough to get in?

As long as you meet the requirements, have a decent SAT or ACT score you should be fine (as long as you really are in their community and not in say CSU Los Angeles’s area). Higher score needed for out of area applicants. Go to CSU Mentor website for the most info.

yeah I got in to pomona and I live in CSUB/CSUN territory. I have a 3.2 too. But I wont be attending I’ll be attending UCR

This year I was accepted. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, had a 3.13GPA, 1710 SAT (560 math, 540 reading), and 25 composite ACT (28 English, 24 math). I thought my scores were too low, but I’m attending in the fall.

I heard average GPA for freshmen entering in 2010/2011 will be 3.7. Architecture will be insanely hard to get in next year. People with unweighted 4.0s will be turned down.
