Cal State Long Beach chances?

Hi, I am an out of state student who lives in New Mexico. I have a 3.67 CSU GPA and 24 Superscore Act. I just applied and declared sociology as a major. Do I have a chance at CSULB?

CSULB admits based on major and eligibility index
(CSU GPA x 200) + (ACT comp x 10)
Your EI calculates as 974.
An EI if 950+ makes you a competitive applicant. There are no guarantees and much will depend upon the stats for the new in-coming Freshman class

It looks like a Match school as long as you can afford to pay Full price to attend.

Good luck.

Ok Thanks. I have additional local scholarships that can make up the cost. I also applied to SDSU but I don’t have any hope of getting in there.

974 could do the trick at SDSU - but, it will be a squeaker…LMU and USD (so cal privates) may also be worth a look since budget isn’t a concern

I applied to the Liberal Arts major if that makes any difference. USD is way too expensive

** Liberal Studies I mean

If USD is too expensive, you are aware that the Cal States are $40K per year. Do you have that much in local scholarships per year?

There is a lot of difference between $40,000 and 65,000

Yes there is a big difference, but California is a very expensive place to live. Your room and board should be covered but add your insurance and anything outside of that, and it becomes very expensive.
