Hi I have to make a decision for senior year course selections, i will be applying to prestigious colleges, but i was wondering to the admissions officers if there is a difference in taking AP Calc BC or Multivariable, esp. for an engineering major… and i didnt want to stretch myself too much my senior year…
You need to take BC before multivariable.
You can’t take multivariable without first taking BC calc so you don’t really have a choice.
Consider BC Calc 1 and 2, and multivariable Calc 3.
Hey guys! Im currently taking AB and our countyhas a program where we can take Calc C over the summer. Ive talked to my counselor and it is possible… so should i do it? is it necessary for colleges?
So you’re currently taking AP Calculus AB (= Calculus I) and you’re asking whether you should take Calculus II over the summer so you can take multivariable in the fall? If you’re doing well in AP Calculus AB, and it’s not too expensive, and you really don’t have anything better to do with your summer, then it would be fine to take it. Otherwise, it’s not a big deal to just take AP Calculus BC in your senior year.
While I agree with @halcyonheather , I’ll also address the second half of your question.
A resounding no!
Yeah i just chose to do BC next year, I wanted to actually do something productive with my summer, thanks!
