Calculating my gpa?

so i took intermediate algebra in 10th grade at another school but i failed that class, i got a D first semester then an F as my final grade. I had to retake it my junior year but the problem is that i moved to another school, i took algebra 2 instead of intermediate, i got an A in both semester/final grade.

wouldnt they replace my grade on my transcript and not calculate both since its a very similar course? im confused because my counselor said no since its two different schools. Should i talk to another counselor?

I would talk to another counselor but it may be a school policy.

My high school and college include the original grade in your gpa even if you retake, which seems to be very common, if not the most common way of calculating GPA. By all means, talk to another counselor, but don’t expect a different answer.

I’m not sure why you are confused; the answer looked pretty straightforward to me. You can talk to another counselor, but more than likely will get the same answer. Even if someone here did give you a different answer, it’s not like any of us have control over your school.

Of course, colleges may recalculate your GPA differently from how your high school calculates it.
