Calculus closed?

Ok, as of today I am still on the waitlist for my M 408C (56905 M 408C - Gonzalez) class.
I am 1 out of 10!

First, what are the chances of me getting into the class?

Second, if I don't get into the class, is there any other way for me to add the class? Since I am an Electrical Engineering major, I am required to take M 408C this semester. And I am not sure if other courses will open on the add/drop period(probably not)! So can I email my professor and ask him if he will let me add the class? Or show up on the first day and ask him there?...Any ideas?

Thanks!

There’s a pretty good chance that you’ll get in since there’s always people who will accept their Calculus AB credit after some thinking (I’m one of those people.)

You are #1 on the wait list? I would bet that you will get in.

At other colleges just showing up is useful but I think this is less true at UT; I don’t think the class professor can easily override the wait list system. I believe that someone administrative in the program you are in (Engineering) can work with someone in the math department to get you into a section of 408C if you don’t get in, but as I said, since you are #1 on the list a week before school starts, I would bet you will get in.

Oh ok, I guess I will just wait for now then.

Thank you, thank you! :D

oh and also what are the class sizes in math classes(particularly M 408C or D)?

Your advisor is the one who can add you to a closed class.

oh really? That’s good to know!

Thanks for the info!
