After entering all the course work for my CSU applications my GPA is sitting at a 2.93 which is pretty terrible, i know! I really went downhill my junior year and took very hard AP classes which backfired on me. My SAT score is 1120 out of 1600 so hopefully that helps my chances. I live in Nor Cal and I am very set on going into nursing but a lot the to CSU’s are impacted on this major so will someone please help lol, I’m going crazy here not knowing if i have a shot at any school at this point! I have Chico, Northridge, Long Beach (a very far stretch), and Fresno right now! Someone please help and please do not sugar coat anything lol
all the CSUs except CPSLO use the same basic formula to evaluate applicants for MOST majors. GPAx800+SAT So, your Eligibility Index is something like 3464. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make you competitive for any of the CSUs you list above. Nursing is much more competitive at all the CSUs so, you are really unlikely to make it into any of those campuses for that major.
if you apply other than nursing, Sonoma, Sac, SF and Humboldt are worth exploring but, do it quick because the application window closes soon.
Thank you so much for replying! Do you know if CSU’s look at you you’re other GPA’s (weighted/unweighted)?
The CSU’s use your weighted GPA capped at eight extra semester points. Which CSU attendance area do you live in? Make sure you apply to that school. “Local” students usually are afforded extra consideration. At the high school where I work we have had students with similar stats to yours make it in to their local school (Sac State).
I live in the Central Valley. I’m not sure but I believe the colleges close to me are Stan, sac, SF, east bay and Sonoma. There’s arll at most an hour and a half away
You should be able to find your local attendance area (county of residence, geographic location, school district, etc.) at this site:

It is probably the school that is closest to your house. Many campuses are not impacted and will consider anyone from anywhere in California.
I would apply to the non-impacted campuses (although Nursing is impacted at all) and select an alternate major since your chances for Pre-Nursing are slim.
These are the CSU’s that I would target: Bakersfield, Channel Islands and East Bay.
