California UC & CSU Geometry

Hi all,

There is a student that took Geometry in 8th grade but took it pass/fail. The class was passed but does this count as a actual pass when the student will go to apply to a college (most likely a UC or CSU)? The UCs and CSU are also changing rules on Geometry and "validation" for students applying fall 2015 and later. The PDF says "may not validate geometry".. Does this mean it will only apply to certain schools or what? If the student gets A's and B's in Alg II, PreCalc, AP Calc B/C, and Ap stats, will the colleges care or not? Or will they be strict about it? I do t science classes would be much impact would they? But if they would look at the Pass in geometry as a pass, then that's even better...

Thanks in advance!

Also do not know if this is the correct forum for this…

You should ask UC and CSU directly about the pass/fail in 8th grade situation.

The web sites say that geometry can no longer be validated with more advanced courses (trigonometry, precalculus, or calculus), SAT subject tests, AP tests, or IB tests in math.

I tried shooting them an email. I’ll see what happens…

I tried shooting them an email haven’t heard from them in 2 days. I dont know if I’ve sent it to the wrong email or should I just try to call them…
