thats correct this process only takes place at the auditions on campus.

Actually the information on the website specifically states that the song and monologue need to be contrasting in style and emotion. I called the school prior to my DS audition which was 1/23/10 and they also told me the same. The other thing is that they should be prepared to sing two full songs not a 32 bar cut. You mention that you will be auditioning to a different panel for each round but in my sons case, the one audition room was taking a while so he was asked to audition for the same panel a second time. All I can say is be as prepared as possible and break a leg. My son found out he is on the wait list. More waiting but we have a good feeling.

oh gosh… do they accept a lot of people right away? Uarts was my only late audition( most of my others were from november to the first week of Febuary)— I had to do a video audition, cause unifieds were filled, and so was the only day I could audition on campus( yesterday). They just recieved my DVD yesterday… do you think doing a video audition and having it in on the last audition day will be a huge disadvantage to my chances of getting accepted?

UArts has " modified" rolling admissions. Those who the school clearly knows it wants to admit and those it knows it clearly wants to reject usually hear within 2 weeks of their audition. Everyone else waits until after auditions are completed. The freshman class is about 22-26 students and in recent years the school admitted about 40 students (about a 7% acceptance rate) to get that number although I don’t know what the acceptance and yield numbers were last year. The fact that you are part of the pool on the last audition date should not be a huge disadvantage (they wouldn’t hold the last audition if they didn’t expect to admit students from it) but there is the probability that the number of admission spots available is reduced given the inherent nature of rolling admissions. It’s just the basic math. If the school is looking to admit 40 students and 4 are admitted from each audition (hypothetical numbers), the number of available spots is going to decrease as each audition occurs. But there still will be available spots at the end.

Thanks so much I guess all I can do now is hope… So do you think everyone will know for sure by april 1st?
