Call

I was initially rejected but today they called asking me if I wanted to be placed on their waiting list. Did this happen to anyone else?

I think they are starting to realize that no one wants to pay 42,000 a year.

Or maybe they made a mistake and just realized it...

It's probably their policy to do so. I will not be surprised if they send you a letter saying that you have been waitlisted soon. I think what most likely happened is that someone denied their offer so you took his/her place. The earlier comment that it costs too much is right, but remember that people know that it will cost $42k+ before they apply. Thier financial aid policy is to meet 100% of demostrated need so that people can apply. In reality, this is one of the reasons for the tuition hike.

By the way, can you post your stats... GPA, SAT/ACT, etc. They might have played a role in the waitlist.

sats 1370
gpa around 3.2-3.4

many ec's

When I first started considering Richmond, it was 28,000 a year. The tuition hike is absolutely ridiculous. This will only lead to more of the same type of people being able to attend. I predict that this will scare off the kids who would be eligible for need-based aid instead of encouraging them to go to the school.

yeah richmond was 28 when i decided to apply ED and then we got a letter saying they raised tuition and it was a very sad day for everyone... :(

i dont think price has anything to do with putting someone on the waitlist. they would wait till may before the realize that money would be an issue

Forza -- what did you decide to do, any further news?
