yes you can..for most schools

Hey guys, I'm actually a Fall 07 transfer, but a successful one at that! I'm leaving Virginia Tech for UVA, and would be happy to answer questions about the UVA process if you want to PM me :)

betterday55, what I meant was that if I didn't try to transfer, then I wouldn't have to study for the ACT and could be doing something else instead.

Yeah, you can retake the ACT.

SAT (new): 2020, old: 1340
High GPA, grades, lots of ECs, internships, clubs, etc. etc. but our school has a serious problem with getting kids into the colleges they want to go to even though it's a private school.

Schools applying to:

Brown University

Columbia University
Duke University
Harvard University
University of Pennsylvania
Dartmouth College

I was going to do Boston College but I decided not to...this is the list as of now...any input (constructive criticism) would be appreciated.

Thats a ridiculous list. You need to narrow it down..

That is a lot. I wouldn't recommend going far over 12 just for quality's sake, though I do encourage people to cast a wide net.

UChicago
Boston College
Amherst College
CU-Boulder
Swarthmore
Vanderbilt

Believe it or not Yale, Harvard, Stanford, etc. are not on my list. Why? Probably couldn't get in. More importantly, I wouldn't fit in there.

ACT: 25
EC's: Wicked good
High School GPA: Not so good: 3.0 (on the flip side I'm an IB graduate)
College GPA (so far) 4.0 (took summer classes) about to enter fall and spring semester.

I took my ACT around my junior year. I'm guessing I should take it again huh?

haha yeah it wouldn't hurt. ;)

i got a 26 on my act, and i got into amherst. But, due to its competitiveness, i dont know if u can get in.

Amherst college admission system is kinda like the search for the next american idol. You must have the "it" factor.

The "It" Factor (n.): Unable to find satisfaction at any college and thus constantly looking to transfer out.

there is nothing wrong with that =) stuff happens!

speaking of which, i think that i wanna apply to WashU....lol got any tips?

send in your application on January 15th. Congratulations on your acceptance!

what the hell? LOL!!!

I cant apply for the fall remember! or else i will be a 3rd yr!

3rd yr applicant = reject

you gotta strike the iron while its hot!
