Calling all Minorities (URMs)

Calling all Minorities (URMs)

Where are you????????

Do I have any URMs applying to the Ivies or new Ivies??
Please post your GPA, class rank, ECs, Recs, school choices, etc. Please don't be shy! I'm a little curious as to the competition that I'm up against.

Please do not waste your time on this post if you are not a URM. No hard feelings. Good luck with your college apps. (where ever you are in the process)

What does URM stand for?

Was this not already posted? Lol

URM stands for Underrepresented Minorities

Well, does hispanic count? And I haven't seen this thread before...

yes, hispanic counts...

There a lot of controversy about: If Filipinos are URMs.

I mean sure, they are "Asian/Pacific Islanders"

But, honestly, how many Filipinos do you see at Ivy Leagues. None.

I'm in a way a URM, but not by race. Instead, I'm a URM by geographic location (thus a URS). I live in Montana and am white. Applying to Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, UPenn.

What counts as an URM region? What states are those?

Some of the major URS (under represented states) are: Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Any international student is generally underrrepresented as well.

Darn. xD I live in Texas. I am applying to Yale, though. And Columbia. Stanford too. >_<
