anyone got their decision yet?

i read of one person on this board being rejected like 3 weeks back, in feb.

Otherwise...admissions says mid march to mid arpil. I think a lot of the colleges are required to consider applications from students who have been there since their freshman year, and then make transfer decisions after seeing what kind of space is left.

I personally am still waiting. Let me know when you hear, and good luck!

thats the link to the thread about that one rejection. I find it very odd he or she was rejected so early.

This dude got a 3.14 GPA and the UIUC computer admission automically wipe him out...

I'm not sure the computer deals with transfer students, as it would have no way of knowing how to evaluate a students transfer coursework, which sometimes is necessary in determining GPA, so an auto deny seems out of the question when all transfers go through manual review.

I will agree that the GPA was probably his or her problem though...which is scary because admissions told me 3.1-3.2 was competitive...i only applied with a 3.39.

my status is "committee review" for over a week now. Its a torture!!!

thats odd. I've been deferred for manual review for like two months. What college did you apply to?

I had "deferred for manual review" for about a week. I applied to the college of engineering.

did the school request spring grades from any of you?

not me. that might be something that has to wait till after you are admitted.....unless they requested yours?

As far as like mid semester grades or something, i dont think they do that.

everybody still waitin?

My son, who is a inter-college transer, got an email today. He did get in but two of his friends with similar GPA's did not.

what college was your son admitted to? What was his GPA (only if you dont mind saying)?

any admits?

He transferred fron Engineering to Business. His GPA in Business classes is 3.5 but his cumulutive was below 3.

I was just denied with a 3.4 GPA. 61 credits. By the college of communications. I went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison my first semester freshman year and got a 2.5 GPA. I then transferred to Eastern Illinois University where i earned a 3.6 and 4.0 in my next semesters. Not only was my GPA reasonable and far above the 3.0 required, i had volunteer work relative to my major. What really bothers me is that my GPA would be around a 3.8 if i had been at eastern for that first semester freshman year (as it is muuuuch easier than wisconsin was).

I am truly dissapointed. I worked very hard and am now a semester behind from having taken classes that would transfer to UofI. Such a bummer. But best of luck to the rest of you, i would never wish upon anyone the dissapointment i am feeling.

I just got accepted to UIUC school of engineering!!!!!!!!!

sweeeeet! congrats

I'm trying to get into the mechanical engineering program with a 3.29 gpa, however yesterday I received a letter stating they were going to defer the final decision until I submitted my spring grades. But the thing that sucks is that this semester even if I get the grades that I'm assuming I'll get, the gpa is either going to stay the same or increase or decrease by a point. Its all good though, better if they reject me as opposed to if I get accepted and end up struggling.
Financial aid is another issue my EFC is only 3500 and I'm almost positive they are going to ask I take out a 10-15 some loan. Anyone know how housing works in my situation b/c I remember reading the deadline was May 1. I'm starting to think that engineering at UIUC is def not worth it unless youre a major superstar, then again if you were you wouldnt be trying to transfer in there in the first place(given some exceptions). What good is it to transfer and compete with all the bright stars in stuff like coops, internships, and grades. Keeping in mind that avg egr gpa is like 2.8. Anywayz CONGRATS to anyone that got accepted, as for me I'll probably head to NIU and if that fails then the University of Indians and Chinese.

the spring grade thing happened to me last year. the one thing i wish i did was put in a housing application to a dorm before i got in. i know that you can apply to private certified housing, but not sure if you can apply to university housing if you havent been accepted yet. i woudl definitely look into that if i were you ASAP. as far as finaid goes, i got all the finaid i needed. if you submitted your fafsa and listed u of i on it as a school, youll be fine. if not, call the OSFA as make that request.
