CalSO 10 credits only?

I'm an engineering student, all my first year courses are like 4 credits each. So, if we are allowed to sign up for 10 credits during CalSO, doesn't that mean that I can only sign up for two courses, which is only 8 credits? or, can i sign up for 12 credits, which is 3 classes?

thanx

You can only sign up for 10 (I’ve seen 10.5, but that wouldn’t matter).

You are going to sign up for the two courses that are going to be the hardest to get into when Phase II arrives (or are the most important to your major).

You will be able to do Phase II at a later date, with your advisor’s code.

i have math1b, chem4a, engin10, and english r1a. which two do u think i should sign up for first? thanx

10.5 units at max.

This means 2 4-unit courses, 2 1-unit seminars/decals, and a .5 unit PE thing.

I’d say chem 4a for sure for phase 1. You want a pro lab time(otherwise schedule conflicts may occur really easily later on as you’re shifting around that 4-hour block).

Chem 1A and English R1A. Make sure you wanna sign up for a section that interests you for R1A.

Question about the .5 unit PE => Do you have to take PE in order to graduate?

no, there is zero requirement for PE, these are strictly if they are of interest to you

No, this ain’t no Uchicago lol…

Unless you’re actively interested in looking at Chem. E. for your major, I would not recommend taking Chem 4A.
