i got an Email on the 11th telling me to sign up for calso, and all the dates were filled already -_- except for the july ones. problem is, im gone between june 25-july 25 or so, so i can't even receive the stuff they will send early july if i dont attend calso.

for the past few hours ive been sitting here idly refreshing teh calso page hoping for a spot to open up, but it doesn't look to hopeful --. does anyone happen to be ABLE and willing to sign up for the july dates -- and exchange?

Hm, I don't know too much about MCB, but I don't think that classes like Chem1A require Phase I units. In any case, you will be able to figure it out even without the informational packets; it's ridiculously simple. You just need internet access.

There are many helpful things available on the internet. You could call the office of advising sometime in the future. There will be something to catch you back up to date during Welcome Week.

Important? To some. It's a great way to meet people, become far more familiar with the university, its resources, and the dorms. Much of the information can be attained elsehwere. You'll probably just make a few different friends than you otherwise would have, and miss out on a common experience almost all students have. Some students think it's a waste of time- I'd say a fairly small minority. Some swear by it. shrug

What's the summer program? Can you try to get into a different CalSO?

anyone coming for early accmodation on Sunday night for CalSO. I dont know whether to pay extra 25 dollars to sleep overnight. Otherwise I have to take the BART early in the morning.... :(

BlueElmo: I did the early arrival (I came from SoCal). It make life less hectic and gives you more flight options (on Southwest). If you try to get an early flight on Monday morning (and you're not familiar with the area), it can get horrendous with knowing which train and stuff. Have your wits about you (my morning wits are as dull as my humor).
