CalSo

Hey
I decided to post this in the 2010 forum because I didn't get many responses in the general one.

I'm signed up for orientation on June 9th but definitely can't attend it on that day. Most of the other dates are full and the ones that aren't won't work out for me because I will be overseas then.
I really don't want to miss out on CalSo!

So I was wondering whether anyone here is signed up on the 5th or the 19th (letters and science) and would rather go on the 9th. If you would rather go on the 9th, I could cancel my reservation (which would leave an opening) and you could sign up for the 9th. Then I could sign up for the 5th.

This is, of course, only for people who want to go on the 9th.
Thanks guys!

please, i'm really desperate.

I dont think this forum gets as much traffic as the general Berkeley one does.

Anyway, I'd trade with you so you can attent CalSO, but I'm in engineering so that day's not avaliable for me. =/ My graduation is kind of on that day too. Sorry I couldn't help. Best of luck though and see you next year!

thanks twilight,
good luck next yr!

anyone else? The 19th is fine too (letters and science)

Never mind! Everything worked out!

Hey, i'm not really sure how calso works but i signed up for it anyway. i heard somewhere we get to enroll in our first 10.5 units? do we already have to know what classes we want to take before going there or is part of the whole calso thing talking to the counselors and helping us plan our schedules? cuz i really don't know what i'm supposed to take for my major and stuff.

It's not terribly important you attend CalSo, at Cal Day my parents learned that attending CalSo is optional, but "recommended." Anyway you can always wait until admit week for any information you need.

From what I have heard, CalSO only gives you a head start in signing up classes for your first semster.

If you don't attend CalSO, some classes you wish to take at a specific time might be full. However, you can always take it next semester.

Thus, I do not believe CalSO is extremely important.

I'm in letters & science I emailed one of the directors of calso last week asking if there was any room in the June 5/6 or 9/10 programs and he said to wait and see if any open up... because those are the only ones I can attend. Right now, the only one left is July 10-11 (which i can't go to)....and I can sign up for that..and switch with you..?
