<p>About Camp 1831
Camp registration will be delayed due to weather. It will now open February 5, 2014.</p>

<p>The Camp 1831 experience provides first-year students with the opportunity to make friends, have fun and develop the pride that comes with being a UA student. Through Camp 1831, first-year students will explore where they fit in this new environment and feel part of the UA family before they ever step foot in the classroom.</p>

<p>Participants are led by the A-Team, current UA students who are passionate about supporting the transition to the first year of college. These students offer their personal insight, advice and give tips for having a fun and successful college experience. </p>

<p>Camp 1831 participants have a head start in making connections with other UA students, faculty and staff.  Every student leaves Camp 1831 feeling prepared and excited for their first year.</p>

<p>Cost for Camp 1831 is $150 and includes transportation from UA’s campus to the site, lodging, meals, and Camp 1831 materials.</p>

<p>TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  — The University of Alabama’s First Year Experience within the Division of Student Affairs will offer three sessions of Camp 1831 in August.</p>

<p>Students new to UA have the opportunity to learn about the Capstone’s traditions, meet fellow first-year students and participate in team-building activities during Camp 1831.The expansion of sessions allows for more student participation.</p>

<p>Camp 1831, in its second year, will focus on four themes: adventure, history and tradition, leadership and service. Participants in the three-day, two-night program will travel to Camp McDowell in Nauvoo, where they will develop leadership skills, connect with other students and experience the pride that comes with being a UA student.</p>

<p>This year, participants will end their camp session with a service project in the Tuscaloosa community. Students will leave camp with a head start in making connections with other UA students and confident about starting a collegiate career at UA.</p>

<p>The A-Team, a carefully selected group of 24 current students, will lead events that reflect the themes of Camp 1831 and provide participants with encouragement and a friendly atmosphere. Applications to join the A-team are available for any current student at fye.ua.edu and are due at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb 7.</p>

<p>Students entering UA during the summer or fall of 2014 are eligible to participate in one of three Camp 1831 sessions in 2014: Aug. 6-8, Aug. 11-13 or Aug. 15-17.</p>

<p>Registration will be available Monday, Feb 3, at fye.ua.edu. The program has a fee of $150, which includes transportation, camp lodging, meals and Camp 1831 gear. The Division of Student Affairs at UA offers limited scholarships for students with financial need to attend Camp 1831. Space for camp is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.</p>

<p>Hmm. The registration for Camp 1831 is “open” but when you click on it to register, it says “not eligible” because not currently registered for Bama Bound. And when you click on Bama Bound registration tabs, they are not available for registration.<br>
Anyone else experiencing this?</p>
