Camp Question

Hello,

I just have a quick question. I have been a girl scout for 10 years and currently a junior. My strongest part of my extracurrluars (or one of them) is all my community service activites, Gold/Silver/Bronze awardee, and my community leadership corridonator job position. I worked as a counselor last summer at a girl scout camp for the entire summer along with 5 years as a day camp counselor. I am thinking about going back this year. I have a very high gpa and good SAT scores. I am looking to go back to being a counselor this summer. However, I am also debating in applying to RSI, gov school, or a precollege program.

I am not sure which one I would like more. I did two years of JHU summer programs and really liked those.

I was just wondering if not doing a summer program would hurt my chances in getting into a prestigious college? I know about doing what you love, but I am still debating the choice.

Any advice or anything would be wonderful!!

My opinion is that working as a camp counselor is every bit as valid as attending a summer program. Definitely. It sounds like you have very good prospects for college!

If you already have two summer programs completed at JHU, do what you would enjoy. If you like going to JHU, go there. If you feel that you would rather be a counselor, do that. One year of summer instruction is not going to hurt your chances with your status already.
