campus jobs?

I was offered a federal work study opportunity in my financial aid package, and I plan on accepting it. I was wondering if anyone can comment on these positions I am considering:
Catholic Student Center office assistant
South 40 Fitness Center assistant
Bear Necessities sales associate
Biology Lab assistant

difficulty? good/bad experiences? or any other job suggestions? I know its relatively early to be thinking about this (incoming freshman fall 2015) but I'm very excited to join WashU :) Thanks!

Were it me, I’d go with the S40 Fitness Center spot - it’s likely to be the lowest work load of the 4 and you can sit around doing hw the most.

I know someone who worked in BN - there’s no downtime for hw; can’t speak to the other 2 but I know the AC Fitness Center assistants get plenty of downtime…

Exactly what Johnson said. I can’t speak for the biology lab assistant or Catholic student center assistant jobs, but Bear Necessities will be a time-consuming cashier position whereas South 40 fitness center will be mostly sitting around doing homework while occasionally checking someone’s gym pass when they enter.

Although I do agree with others that working for South 40 Fitness Center assistant and Bear Necessities sales associate gives you time to do homework, I believe that college is not all about academics and doing homework 24/7. I worked in the Geoarchaeology lab as a lab assistant this semester with Professor Kidder and I got to say, it gave me valuable lab experience and it is definitely important to have that experience especially if you are pre-med. Because of that experience, I have 2 research positions next semester and I’m super excited! The biology lab assistant is definitely worth the time!
