I will be visiting the campus for a ph.d student weekend in a couple weeks. What are the places that I should be sure to check out both on campus, and off campus?

Although this is meant as a general thread, I am also interested in the Japanese population at wash-u? Although I am not a Japanese student, I have been studying the language for the past year, part-time, and what to continue this as I continue through school.

As a ph.d student, I think you will be interested in the night life around the Central West End, the museums and facilities of Forest Park, and to a lesser degree the restaurants and theatres in U. City on Delmar.

S is studying Japanese, and he loves it (he isn't Japanese either), maybe if you know the exact date you are going to visit, I could contact you with him (students know better than parents ;))

Depending on your discipline, you might want to look at some of the places that have academic connections with WashU. When I was at the zoo last weekend, PhD visitors for the Anthropology department were there discussing the research links that we have with the zoo.

I will also have that day of meeting. I'll go to CSE dept.
Do ya guys know, in addition to meeting faculty, what else will happen in the meeting day?
