I have heard some very mized reviews about the emory campus. While many people say that it is beautiful, others say it makes it neccesary to have a car once you're there. What would you say about the quality of the campus as a whole? Additionally what would you say about the accesibility of Atlanta if one were to want to explore the city, get a job in the city, or go to sporting events?

Thanks in advance!

The campus itself does not require a car. And it is very beautiful (unless you are a diehard fan of traditional red/colonial brick or Gothic architecture, which many are). If the architecture is not your cup of tea, the greenery more than makes up for it. Not to mention, even if the exteriors are lackluster the interiors of various buildings shows that some money went into it. The facilities are amazing, even the older ones (due to renovations and stuff, which is a constant theme around here). As for a car, it’s beneficial, but unnecessary based upon my experience. If you are willing to plan to take MARTA and forms of public transportation, you’ll be fine. Also sporting events are very accessible. They are always downtown/midtown, which is easy to get to on MARTA. Given that I go to Tech a lot, I have found some slick ways to get where I want for a lower price. Like if I wanted to go explore mid-town on say Friday, I just get on the Tech shuttle and walk. Not too difficult. Will have to take MARTA back, but I end up paying for only one way. Tech also has Atlantic Station shuttles that I believe run during the week days. So going there could be cheap. Then again, I’m kind of adventurous, so I don’t mind doing stuff like this.

Thank you, anyone else?
