(self explanatory, lol) Seriously, though, my English teacher is EXTREMELY arbitrary with grades, often basing them on whether anyone else in the class had a similar anaysis of a work or not! Thus, the people with As right now wil prob flub up the AP exam for eng lang pretty badly. Though I am stuck with my B, would a 5 on the AP exam, 800 SAT II lit, and very high SAT critic reading help negate this?

Yes, high scores on the CR, AP Lit, &SATII will definitely balance your B. (And the B is not a problem if it is your only one.) I think adcoms know how arbitrary English grades can be.

My firstborn had her only B during h.s. in AP English (12), yet managed to be the only one in her class to be accepted by HYP. (And that was without a 5 on the Lit AP.)

Lol, my B in english has a nasty companion in the form of my B+ in AP calc....thanks though!!!!!

Helpppppppppp!!!!!!!!

Indeed. I had Bs in English all four years of high school, but a 5 on the AP Literature exam--taken at the end of my sophomore year--and a 760 on the CR.

You'll ultimately be evaluated in the context of how difficult your high school curriculum is and how well you performed relative to your peers.

I don't think one thing compensates for another in college admission. That said, a high CR score and lit score will tell them you will not have any issue comprehending college level work and a couple of B's are OK.

hmmmmmmmm.........

still worried......

Yeah I’m wondering about this as well. I got a B in english and probably wont get an A in it.
yep i might as well just kill myself now.
