Anyone have experience with 5-day boarding at Noble & Greenough? What's the culture like? Is it harder to be admitted as a boarder than a day student?

Isn’t Noble and Greenough a day school? I could be wrong…

Nobles is primarily a day school but it does have a limited 5 day boarding program for semi-local families. Students board during the week and go home on weekends.

Not anymore is my understanding. We live fairly close, but you have to be of some distance to get one of the few boarding spots.

Can you clarify? Not sure which question you’re answering. Thanks!

It does not have a boarding option for semi-local families. You now have to live quite a distance to apply and be accepted for the 5 day boarding option.

I met an alunmus at a recent gathering who was from Wayland (20 minutes away up route 128 from Dedham). When he went in the 80’s, he was allowed to board during the week and come home on WEs. We live close to that location, but when I inquired last Fall at our interview, the adcom said if you live that close it is no longer an option. There are very few boarding spots, mostly from families whose drive would be prohibitive, western MA for example or further away.
