Can college students take AP Exams?

I just recently enrolled full-time, and was wondering if I could still take an AP test and get credit for it? I haven't found anything in the college catalog; what's the policy at your school or generally?

You want to take CLEP exams, not AP exams.
The whole AP exam schedule is geared to the end of the high school academic year. Even if you could sign up, which I don't think you can do, you wouldn't be able to take an exam until May 2008.

Yes you can.

I done it.

hmm i've often wondered about this too. although the rules might vary among colleges, but maybe there's a way to get around it...

I suppose you probably could..but it generally wouldn't make much sense since most AP courses are counted toward freshmen-level classes at most universities and since you can't take AP exams until May when everyone takes them at the same time through their HS, you should have already completed said courses during your freshmen year. Take a CLEP exam instead. The English Lit CLEP is supposed to be the easiest one, fyi....

It helps fulfill "general degree requirements" - hence the reason why taking APs can be advantageous.

I only have to take 15 credits of non-math/science classes as a result of AP credits. Now, I'm not that narrow-minded - I just don't like the teaching and self-educate myself on the social and behavioral sciences.
