Can engineers use AP credits towards their required general electives?

In my case I plan to take AP Music theory. If I get a 5, does that mean I can take less general electives?

I don’t believe they award credit for AP classes unless it’s AP Calc, Physics, Chemistry, and possibly computer science

@rjp456 That is not totally true. They would follow LSA AP credit guidelines if it is not specified under CoE. However, I think AP music theory credits only grant to Music School.

@billcsho Since engineers are allowed to take any course offered at U-M for their general electives, do you think my AP music theory credits will be counted towards that requirement?
