Ok so here is my issue. This past fall I started classes at a State University after transfering from a 2-year school. At my community college, I carried a 3.0 GPA. This fall semester was rough as I adjusted to living on campus while working to save money for student loans. I would often work late nights and would be exhausted and sleep through classes the next day. As a result I did very poorly this fall semester. Since I was a transfer student and it was my first semester, I thought I would be able to continue next semester on academic probation. Instead I was academically dismissed. I went through the process of appealing the dismissal. In my appeal letter I explained how my family is not well off and I was worried about paying off my student loans and how I didn't have my priorities straight. I outlined a plan for improving my study habits and time managment for spring semester. I even included a copy of my transcript from community college and had letters of support from my manager at work and my advisor from my first school. I did all of this yet my appeal was denied. I have the sinking feeling that if I were not relying on financial aid and myself or my parents were paying for my education out of pocket, then my appeal would have been accepted. All I hear is that all they care about is getting money. I feel like I was not given a fair shot at a second chance and was wondering if it is a wise idea to appeal my appeal by going over the Committee's heads and speak in person to the University President. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like your only choice in the matter is to go back to community college, take classes to raise your GPA (after transferring in your other classes you failed), and try to get into another college.
