I feel like my Japanese teacher at the university I’m taking for dual enrollment knows me the best. I actually took Japanese cause I really wanted to even though I took 3 years of Spanish already.
Btw, Im currently a junior in highschool. I take classes at a college for dual enrollment.
I don’t really have any teachers in my high school that really like me, they think I’m an introvert probably.
I don’t see any reason why not since the professor is for a DE course that will be on your transcript. However, I recommend asking a teacher in a core subject for the other letter.
What about for me, I go to earl college where for our entire junior and senior years we take only college classes on a college campus, would it be ok to have my professors do it then? especially since I transfered and was only at the actual high school part of the school for one year and don’t have to personal of a relationship with the teachers, i have a couple but not on the scale as some of my classmates
In the case of schools who have active DE programs with local colleges, I see no issue with asking the professor for a recommendation. However, every school is different so you should really ask your guidance counselor AND the admissions at any colleges you are interested in.
The underlying issue behind this question is why don’t you want any teachers from your HS to write you one? Are you that much of a nonparticipant in class? Is there any reason they could believe you have an attitude? Either way, you need to step up in the class participation/teacher socialization zone for not only now but also the future. People won’t be able to get to know you or write you a good recommendation if you’re quiet and don’t interact with them at all.
I think it is fine to use a teacher in a DE program, especially since the teacher can opine about your ability to do college level work. The other recommendation should be from a HS teacher…
