can i boast about my awesome financial aid package?

:-D can't help myself!
so i was a finalist for presidential scholarship... i didn't get it but i dont really care! becaaaaause:

Deans Scholarship- 8802
Federal Work Study- 2500

Estimated Cost of Attendance 49,742
- Total Financial Aid 37,892
= Additional Loan Eligibility 11,850

this is verrryyyy surprising to me because my family's EFC on FAFSA was $17k annnd we have a lot of home equity. well, i sure aint complainin!

That's nice! I'm jealous haha

WOW i am so jealous haha. That's the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

no you may not.

oh shut up bryan. you're jealous because you had to EARN your money!

hummm congratulations I guess! So this means you're coming right :)

no clue what university scholarship is. Since they called it a scholarship and not a grant it's probably merit based.

WHOA EMILY, Crazy financial Aid!

That's a great deal...one question. Do loans and work study count as financial aid because loans you have to pay back (and even with school loans, there is interest to pay) and work study...obviously you have to put in a lot of hours during the academic year to earn that. I would think the grants and scholarships (free money) would actually be your amount of financial aid. That's a great package!

FEDERAL loans and work study do count as FA. However the suggest additional loans don't count =]

congratulations!

Congrats! That's very good! Unfortunately, the stupid website refuses to load for me, so my financial aid award is still in suspense.

Woah Emily! That's awesome.

I can only hope and wait for mine.

oooh awesome!!1
do packages usually me per year or just the first year?

They will vary from year to year according to new financial need information.

if you have to take additional loans (other than the stafford ones), does usc offer them or do you have to find a private lender?

I dunno, it still looks like a lot, but relative to the original cost it's pretty good. Just another reason why I didn't consider USC I guess.

socks - Excellent F/A package. Congrats. Just curious, do you have any siblings currently attending college (or private high school). That is an amazing grant, for a FAFSA that not very low. Good for you.

yay my FAFSA is alot lower so i should get more.

congrats!! ahh i'm so happy for you.

USC is so generous.

i want to get in too.

no, as far as the fed gov't is concerned my parents have no other dependents... my brother is starting law school in the fall, but he's an "adult"
