I'm transferring this fall (most likely to UCSD, but I haven't heard from Cal yet, so that's still a possibility) and I want to change my major from Sociology to Psychology. I checked the UCSD website and it said your major must be chosen before you have completed 60 units, which I will finish this semester. Will I be able to change my major before classes start this fall? Should I try to change it with the school admissions office before this semester at my CC is over? I like my major, but since the application deadline in November, I've been seriously thinking that I want to switch.

Anyone know?

^^^^ the major must be declared by the time you've received 90 units, not 60, but they're on the quarter system and I'm currently on the semester system, so I'm not sure about how they match up...

90 quarter units equals 60 semester units

Ok, so I emailed the school a few days ago and wrote:

I applied in November as a Sociology major, but since then I
have been seriously thinking about switching my major to Psychology.
Is there anyway I can still switch or do I have to continue as a Sociology
major?

and they emailed me back:

Felicia,

You may switch to Psychology at any time. I would suggest waiting
until
after your orientation and advising or even after you have started
classes. Thank you.
