Hello everyone. I am a CS major international freshman at UC Davis, and currently I am on the waitlist for two courses: ECS 20 (#5 on the waitlist) and ECS 36A (#2 on the waitlist). I do not mind dropping ECS 20, but I really need to get into ECS 36A because I am repeating it (I didn’t get a grade meeting the prerequisite for ECS 36B when I took ECS 36A in the last quarter). I want to be done with the 36 series at least by next fall quarter. It is unlikely that I will get a PTA number (I will still ask for one, but my friend was #1 on the waitlist (and repeating the course like me), and her adviser told her that she does not qualify for a PTA, so she’s in 32A now), so my question is that can I continue throughout the quarter as a waitlisted student? I don’t mind standing during the lectures. Can I continue taking exams and submitting assignments till the end of the quarter? What are the disadvantages of doing this? Thanks in advance.
