Can I do this?

I'm entering a highly selective college this fall and I'm thinking about taking chemistry over the summer at a community college, just to review the material before taking the course at my university. This would be for no credit, nor for that matter do I intend even to notify the university about the class. Is there a reason I can't or shouldn't do this? I want to maximize my chance of getting a good grade at the university.

Well if it generated a transcript at that CC, you would have to report it on your med school application. And med schools don’t like you retaking courses unless you have to, so I would avoid it.

Is auditing the class an option?

Even if auditing the class is an option, why? It is a complete waste of time.

You should not have to “preview” or “review” for a class before taking the class; that’s what the class is for. Do you intend to do this for every class you are going to take to “maximize” your “chance of getting a good grade”?
